I know im not the only person in the poker world that has this problem... 2 notable pros who have went "BUSTO" more than once are David "Chino" Rheem & Mike "The Grinder" Mizrachi... both had (said had for a reason) ZERO BRM (Bank Roll Management)
Chino is renowned for begging & borrowing his way to his next tourney buyin & Grinder went busto after a bout of mis-managed investments & a huge cash game downswing.. but both have done pretty well over the last few years
I myself, have very poor BRM, particularly if its my own money... Although I have NEVER mistreated a backers money & the thought has never entered my head.
I tend to just deposit a couple hundred $, play a bunch of games (usually around the $7-15 mark, looking for a decent score) & quickly go busto.. il maybe repeat this a few times a year.
My question is... do any of you have any tips for BRM... apart from the obv like sticking to limits your comfortable, dropping down etc... i mean.. i know these & have demonstrated these with backers money... but cant shake the "fuck it" attitude when its my own money.
i would love to progress up the limits, (SNGs MTTs & cash), & obv progress through the 'Stars VIP programme (even a break even player can make a fortune with the right volume.) I dont want anything lavish.. just enough for a holiday or a new car.. not being greedy.
Any tips or advise would be a great help
